An artistic expression of liturgical colour

'The Spirit in Liturgical Life' by Andrea Fruhling

We the church are light
the light shining in darkness
the darkness vanquished

The Christian calendar year, portrayed in colour blocks painted by my daughter, Andrea Fruhling, reminds me of the flow and the freedom of the spirit in all of the seasons of our Christian year. They bring light and life to all that we can and cannot see in our faith journey.

The haiku poem is my reflection on the call to the church to actively bear witness to the light which has come into the world and, no matter the challenges, will not be overcome by the darkness.
